Girls in Aviation Day is our signature annual event!
Every year we plan an event geared towards young girls in hopes to peak their interest in the world of aviation.
Our Girls In Aviation Day (GIAD) event is hosted by Hartford Jet at Hartford–Brainard Airport. Lindsey Rutka, the owner of Hartford Jet opens up the entire airport for our event.
Annually, different aviation organizations host activities all over the airport for our kids throughout the day. We have sponsors who come out to support this event and provide our kids with information on what their companies do and show their support to this historical event.
The count down to our 8th Annual Girls in Aviation Day (GIAD) begins!! Mark your calendars for 9.24.22!
Due to #covid we have not had as much #support for our event this year, but this is not going to stop us! Our plan is to host 200 girls this year!
Our event will be hosted at @Hartford again this year and we are still seeking #sponsorship , #activityhosts , #attendees and #volunteers ! #KHFD have been so wonderful that they provided us with all the amenities of the #airport! To make this event memorable for our attendees we are seeking support with either #montarysupport or #servicedonations for our event.
All #donations used to make our event the best it can be for our attendees are #welcomed. Some items we can always use are: #buses , #activitysupplies , #tables #chairs , #banners , customized #tableclothes , #schoolsupplies , #tshirts , #tents , #raffle items, #photographers , #mediateams etc. Your donations are important to our #Chapter so signup below to get more information on sponsorship.
We are desperately seeking a #buscompany that would be interested in chartering girls in various areas of #Connecticut like #NewHaven, so they can attend our event in #Hartford. We know there are schools in our #innercities that have kids who would love the opportunity to attend our #signatureevent so we are looking for #busservices in those areas to donate their buses to transporting our attendees!
In addition to #transportation around CT, the #airport has allowed a rare opportunity for our attendees to see the inside of the #controltower again! In order to do that we are also seeking someone to #sponsor a #bus that will take our #nextgenerationaviators from the #hangars to the control tower! Please reach out to Rebecca Babcock if you can help us bring some #girls to our #aviation and #stem event on Saturday, September 24th!!
For the event we know #safety is important so we are seeking a #CivilAirPatrol troop or maybe a #militaryleague to help us #marshall the #apron. Ensuring the safety of our attendees and the #aircraft on the #taxiway is our priority. We need people who can help keep everyone in the #safezones , so if you know any groups interested in helping us keep the #pilots and attendees safe please reach out to me directly.
Below are the links to our Eventbrite tickets so be sure to get your signup before we run out of space!!!
